In the 1990's, Michael R. Carpenter, PhD completed a Request for Proposal (RFP) from the Center for the Prevention of the Study of Violence in Boulder, Colorado to have a school piloted in the Bullying Prevention Program (BPP). After being involved in this school's implementation of the BPP, Mike was one of twenty trainers selected by Dr. Dan Olweus to become a Nationally Cerified Olweus BPP Trainer. He has since trained more than 20 BPP Coordinating Committees in Cobb County and 15 in Cherokee County alone. In addition for the last five years, Mike has worked for the Illinois BOE offering awareness workshops in bullying prevention in various cities throughout Illinois along with other selected states such as Georgia, Texas, Louisiana, Florida, Tennessee, North Carolina, District of Columbia, New York, and Washington.
